It doesn’t matter where you are in the world – with the UKSC you can showcase your songs to the music industry in London.

Visit the website at http://www.songwritingcontest.co.uk for full details and entry forms and to hear last year’s winners.

Prizes in 2013 include professional music production packages with world class musicians under the personal direction of the director and producers at MOA Studios, a professional music video shoot and production, professionally designed CD artwork, valuable international Song Copyright Registration packages, promotion to the music industry on the “Best of UKSC 2013” album, valuable SongU.com and Broadjam memberships, Guild of International Songwriters and Composers memberships and much more…

The UKSC judges include Grammy, Emmy, CMA and BRIT Award winning producers and artists who are looking for new songwriting talent. These include Sting’s producer Kipper Eldridge, Elton John’s producer Stuart Epps and Britney Spears’ musical director Simon Ellis and other outstanding professionals. Check out all the talented judges at the contest website.

You can enter your MP3s online in a few clicks and there is a simple way for lyricists to enter the Lyrics Only category by cutting and pasting lyrics into a special Lyrics Form. You can also enter songs that are already on your website, MySpace, Soundcloud, YouTube etc without uploading again to the contest.

As usual EVERYONE WHO ENTERS gets a UKSC Certificate for each song entered (it looks great framed on your studio or home wall or in your press kit or CV) and everyone gets to know the position reached in the judging panels for each song and the exact judges score for each song. Plus, everyone who enters will receive a US$50 membership of SongU.com that entitles you to take songwriting courses of your choice. This is a great opportunity to perfect your songwriting skills and learn from the masters. Plus, everyone who enters also receives a US$25 membership of Broadjam.com. That’s a total of US$75 (almost £50 in UK pounds) in prizes guaranteed to everyone just for entering!

And there is much much more – full details of all prizes and opportunities are http://www.songwritingcontest.co.uk

The 15 song categories this year are Love Songs, Singer/Songwriter, Pop, Lyrics Only, Christmas Songs, Adult Contemporary, Rock, Country, Instrumental, RnB, Jazz/Blues, Christian/Faith, Acoustic and Folk, Electronic and Dance, and the Open Category (for any song entries that don’t fit into the other categories).

Check them all out at the official contest website.

This contest is often described in the media as “prestigious” and it is the only songwriting contest in the world that has had winning writers signed by top producers such as Simon Cowell. Many writer’s have gone on to success and have been signed to publishing and recording deals and you can read about them on the newly updated contest website. Other new sections on the website include a year by year history of the contest from the first contest to the present and contest results going back to the first event in 2002.

There is also a new Blog and other new features.

Visit the contest website at http://www.songwritingcontest.co.uk for all details and entry forms.

We hope you will enter the contest this year and we look forward to receiving your work.

Best wishes, The UK Songwriting Contest Team
